This team is equipped for specialist Counter Terrorism operations, taking place inside a confined and potentially hazardous environment - whether this is a Highrise building, tunnel system or maritime platform. They all wear respirators and are equipped with the ultra-compact MCX Rattler, with high rise optics suited for use with a full face respirator, where a cheek weld is challenging.
One operator is a designated breacher, with shotgun and various other explosive and kinetic breaching tools.
A full body length ballistic shield is carried by another operator, capable of filling an entire doorway or other aperture.
A specialist carries an electronic countermeasures system - capable of blocking or disrupting triggered explosives, cell phones and other electronic devices.
Each operator wears a variety of kit to suit their personal preferences. Minimal magazines are carried as operations are not expected to be prolonged. Glock sidearms are worn and fragmentation, smoke and flash grenades are carried - along with a selection of knives, zip cuffs and glow stick markers.
